Paul is HOME

Paul (my little brother) served a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Ghana Accra Mission in Africa. He flew home last weekend and we had a great time with him. I'm so glad he's home safe.My Mom waiting for Paul, Nichole and Dad to walk off the plane. Dad and Nichole flew to Accra to spend the last week of Paul's mission seeing the country.
Sara(my sister) made the signs.

Hey Guess What

Here's my little kidney bean. It was cool I'd never had an ultrasound quite so early. We could see the little heart fluttering. Just in case you were wondering, because weirdly several people have asked, this is a planned pregnancy. Aaron will be 6 and Edward will be 4 by the time number three comes along. We're all really excited.
Look at what I got in the mail yesterday. I thought it was just so funny that I got a letter in the mail telling me I was pregnant. Anyway I thought I might as well blog it.

At Least Someone Got a Bath

I've not been feeling too hot the last couple of days. I was laying down reading and Eddie decided to jump in bed with me and cuddle but before too long he was asleep. Since we're having the missionaries and friends for dinner, I figured I should probably bathe and at least smell presentable. I left Eddie asleep in my bed, cleaned out all the toys, wiped out the tub and started the bath water. In case you didn't know Michael and I have a great big jacuzzi bathtub in our master bath that I use a couple of times a year and it empties out the water heater just to fill it. So the water's running and I go down stairs to grab a yogurt and my water bottle. When I get back to the bedroom I notice Eddie's no longer asleep in my bed, his clothes are strewn on the floor and he's sitting in my full bathtub, surrounded by toys. After sensing me nearby, he looks up with those adorable blue eyes of his and I tell him, "That was my bath." His reply is, "Want to share, it's good to share." Aaron my 5 and 3/4 year old would attest that sharing a bath with Eddie is gross because sometimes he pees in the water. So of course I declined. My dreams of lounging in a warm bath with the jets running and reading a book are squashed. So I guess I'm blogging while I wait for the water heater to refill with hot water so that I can take a rushed Shower before our dinner guests get here. The sacrifices I make for my children.

Enchanted Friday

I took the boys to Enchanted Forest. Lot's of fun but it's no Disneyland. However they're still young we'll hold Disneyland so when they do go it's a really big deal. Aaron and Eddie were the perfect age and height for Enchanted Forest. Still small enough to ride on the kiddie rides again and again by themselves and also big enough to ride on all the other rides a few times with mom. However the Log Plume had a two ride limit for me. Having my stomach go up into my chest isn't a feeling I enjoy so much when I'm pregnant. The rest of the time I love rides (just ask Michael about going to Lagoon last summer while in Utah). Anyway here are a couple of pics of the cutie pies having according to Aaron, "The most fun ever".

Where has my summer gone?

Missing one summer vacation. If you know where it is please contact me.

Seriously I think most of my summer has been spent on Facebook. But here is a list of some of the fun things we've done recently that I'm too lazy to do a post for each.

  • Going to Sherwood and visiting with Shannon, her three sons and new daughter.
  • Volleyball almost every Tuesday and Thursday night all summer long.
  • Several pool days courtesy of good friends with pool memberships.
  • Lots of days just hanging out at home while friends come over to play with us.
  • Library, Costco, and park outings.

Beautiful Waldport

Michael and I got away for the weekend, without kids, thanks to fabulous Aunt Melissa. It was great we stayed with one of Michael's co-workers, Shirley and her husband Kent. We had a great time with a few walks on the beach and a beautiful view from Cape Perpetua.

There was this cool little stone shelter that I thought was just so fun I wanted to make it my new hide out.

On our way home from the beach we stopped at Spirit Mountain Casino for their buffet. I think I tried a bite of almost everything. Definitely worth it however if you get there before 3pm it's heaps cheaper.

Potty Training is the Pits

7/29/08 Update Eddie is completely potty trained including keeping dry at night. He hasn't peed the bed once since taking away his pull-ups. He goes to the bathroom all by himself now. The main problem we have is that he doesn't put his underwear back on after he's done. He'll come running out of the bathroom with nothing covering down there whether we have guests over or not. Hey but at least he's doing all of his business in the toilet and I'm not having to clean it up anymore. NO MORE DIAPERS!! (well for at least not for nine months or more, meaning I'm not prego yet). I've got to say waiting to potty train until the kid is a little older is fabulous.

So we've started potty training the Word. He's been in underwear for about a week and a half and still has yet to go number two in the toilet. Yuck! Seriously this has to be one of my least favorite parts of motherhood. But maybe he can pay me back for all the diapers he's used by becoming an underwear model.

Julie and Andy's Wedding

So I made the drive up north to my friend Julie's Wedding. She was gorgeous as brides tend to be. Our mutual friend Alan was there with his wife Kristen. They were pretty much the only people Michael and I talked to. I tried to take a picture of Alan but he has this thing about not being normal. So it took a few tries.

Shalyse's Surprise Baby Shower

As per Shalyse's request I've put this little video of her surprise shower that Gina and I threw for her. Her reaction was priceless however I don't think I got the best angle for the video.

Father's Day

So I learned something. I can fit 20+ people for a sit down dinner in my dining room. Wow! I think I should start having more dinner parties. If only I could talk Michael into it. I love having people around. It was great we hosted 4(Josh, Merillee and their 3 kids; Nichole; Melissa, John and their 5 kids; Jared, Charlotte and their 2 kids) of my 7 siblings, as well as Grandma and Grandpa Booren.

AC had a blast with his cousins
there were 12 kids in all.

Word just kind of wondered around eating strawberries

Women's Conference 2008

So since I put a picture in I figured I should probably also explain a little bit about the trip. We decided that we should have a sister's trip so six of the women in our family including all Booren sister's and two sister in laws went to Utah for Women's Conference at BYU. We had a lot of fun together despite a few bouts of PMS. We even did a temple session in Salt Lake on Saturday morning. Maybe we can do it again sometime.

Silly boys

I have six boys and one girl this week. My sister Melissa and her husband went to Hawaii and being the glutton I am, offered to watch her five kids. She mentioned that I don't have a car big enough to take everyone anywhere and I laughed at her saying, "I'm not going anywhere with that many kids, we'll just stay at home for a week." True to that statement so far we've stayed home. If the weather is nicer maybe we'll all walk to the park tomorrow. Right now the three youngest boys are playing on PBSkids.org laughing at the gas noises the teletubies make. Little boy laughter is so sweet. Got to love the fact that they'll laugh at almost anything. I have to remind the boys that their ideas of funny are different than mine when they ask how come you're not laughing.

I love that AC likes to sing along with my music. It kills me that he is so good at music when I suck so much. I'm teaching myself to play the piano though so maybe some day that will all change. Learning to play the piano on my own is really slow going but like anything it's fulfilling to do something you didn't think you could do. Okay so why do people like to blog so much? I've barely written a few sentences and I already feel like I'm rambling and there is no way anyone would want to read this.
